What stage of the writing process should I be in to attend this retreat?

Writers at any and every stage are welcome. Whether you are just starting to cultivate an idea or polishing a final draft, this environment is designed to support your specific creative journey.

Do I need to submit a writing sample or have a project started before I arrive?

No submission is required to attend. However, if you are already working on a project, bring it along so you can dive right in.

Which airport is the best to fly into, and how do I get to the villa?

The best airport to fly into is Florence (FLR). We provide a shuttle service that will take you to and from a set meeting point in downtown Florence directly to the retreat venue.

Do I need to rent a car?

There is no need to rent a car. The retreat is self-contained, and we handle the logistics of getting you to the property from Florence.

Is there reliable Wi-Fi at the villa?

Yes, the villa is equipped with reliable Wi-Fi, so you will be able to stay connected with work or family if needed.

What are the bathrooms like in the guest rooms?

Every guest room features a private, en-suite bathroom. Please note that, consistent with many European villas, these bathrooms feature showers rather than bathtubs.

Can the chef accommodate specific dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. Prior to the retreat, we will reach out to ask about any dietary restrictions or allergies. Our chef will be fully briefed ahead of time to ensure your meals are safe and delicious.

Are all meals and beverages included?

Yes. This is an all-inclusive experience; all meals and beverages (including regional wine) are included in your stay.

Can I bring a spouse or partner who isn’t a writer?

Guests are welcome to join you for an additional cost. Please see the Details section for specific guest options and pricing.

What should I pack in terms of clothing and writing supplies?

Bring your laptop/notebook for our sessions. For clothing, we recommend a variety of attire to stay comfortable. We suggest checking the local weather forecast for Montespertoli shortly before you fly out to help guide your choices.

Is travel insurance required?

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Because we are a small boutique retreat, we do not offer refunds on this trip under any circumstances.

How many writers typically attend each retreat?

To ensure an intimate and impactful experience, each retreat is strictly limited to 12 writers.
